Who are the Hill family and why are they doing this?
We are three siblings, Tania, Luke and Paul who will attempt an English Channel Swim in August 2014. This will be a complete crossing by each sibling, making it a world first for three siblings completing the swim in the same year.
Yes we are a little crazy ( 41km’s, a 15 degree water temperature in the busiest shipping channel in the world not to mention the jellyfish and debris), but having lost our mother to cancer at a young age we wanted to really make a difference to all those families like ours which have been touched by this disease. So In the lead up to this world-first challenge we will be raising funds for Cancer Council NSW.
Did you know that Cancer Council NSW has been providing cancer support to NSW for over 50 years? They are the only organisation to work across all cancers and are the only charity that provides prevention, support, education, and awareness programs while also being the largest funder of cancer research outside the government. Cancer Council NSW are a completely independent charity that receives no government funding and rely on the generosity of the NSW community to fund their programs and services.
Our fundraising events have included a 12 hour swim in a swim spa by Luke right in central Sydney and a community Channel Swim Relay held at The Entrance, where 989 laps were completed! We would love for you to follow our story.
